NGD

Hmmm…the reason for my sudden slouch could be attributed to the first in the list of today’s “national holidays”…

National Holidays for October 15:

National Grouch Day
Sweetest Day
UN International Day Of Rural Women
White Cane Safety Day
Wishbones for Pets (10/15-11/30)

So, in honor of National Grouch Day, there’s no stinkin’ resource today! Like it or lump it! 😉

(but please come back tomorrow!)

Laughter is the Best Medicine

I am in need of some humor today and thought maybe someone else might need a chuckle too. Here’s a link to a few tips from the folks at HelpGuide.org, Laughter is the Best Medicine

“The most wasted day of all is that in which we have not laughed.”

“Laughter is the closest distance between two people.”

CCAKids

I don’t remember exactly how I became connected with CCA, but I am SO grateful I did! The Children’s Craniofacial Association empowers and gives hope to individuals and families affected by facial differences.

Each summer families gather for the CCA Family Retreat, sponsored in part by Cher. In 1985 Cher starred in the movie MASK about a boy living with craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, a rare disorder. She was moved by the families and individuals she met through this film process and wanted to give something back, so each summer, families are blessed by her generosity during the family retreat…3 days where the families can let down their hair, connect with friends new and old and enjoy life together. We have attended 2 CCA retreats; Nashville, TN and Salt Lake City, Utah.

CCA also provides resources and connections for individuals and families needing to make connections to specialists or other families. If families need assistance finding or funding a specialist, CCA may be able to assist. And there’s more…check out the website to see all the awesome stuff CCA is doing to support individuals and families affected by facial differences.

More about Pauline – A Bloom blog follow up

When I started this blog, I promised myself I would post a new and different resource each day. But I didn’t know I’d meet Louise and I didn’t know she’d cause a “Pauline Stir”…but I’m SO glad she did! Previously I shared a Bloom blog written about my dear friend Rick Guidotti which featured a picture of Pauline. Louise, the author of that blog contacted me because there had been many inquiries about the photo highlighted…the photo of Pauline! She asked for more information and she ran a follow up post in BLOOM!
Thank you Louise for recognizing Positive Exposure and for choosing to run Pauline’s pic…grateful!

So to keep the promise, I’m also sharing a resource, a ridiculous one, but a resource none the less! Hey, EVERYBODY needs a good laugh and Pauline would have loved these…
